Indulge in the "Burnham Market and Royal NW Norfolk Tour", to be held on Saturday 28th September.
The Tour will commence with refreshments at "The Hoste" hotel overlooking the traditional village green in Burnham Market. Burnham, a pretty village just a couple of miles from the spectacular North Norfolk coastline, designated an area of outstanding natural beauty.
From here, we will take the coast road to the Sandringham Estate, passing through several attractive coastal villages and incorporating a cliff-top view over The Wash.
On arrival at the Sandringham Estate we will take the "Scenic Drive" through Sandringham Woods before parking on "The Vista" beside the Visitor Centre, with its restaurant, shops and wood carving trail.
A short drive will then lead us to the old Royal Station at Wolferton. After Queen Victoria bought the Sandringham Estate in 1862, the station at Wolferton became a Royal Station and regularly received Royal Family visitors. Since its closure, the station has been in private hands, the current owner having undertaken a substantial refurbishment. The museum and all other station buildings will be open and parking alongside the platforms will provide a unique photo opportunity.
The return to Burnham Market for lunch at The Hoste will take us along King's Avenue to the village of Anmer, past Anmer Hall, the home of the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, and then past Houghton Hall with its spectacular grounds and vistas.
Lunch at the Hoste Inn will be buffet style. Following lunch you will be free to explore the excellent boutique shops in Burnham Market or to visit other local attractions.
